West Perth man charged after vehicles recovered in Chatsworth

CHATSWORTH – Police say a West Perth resident is one of two people charged after a search warrant was executed in Chatsworth that turned up a car, a side-by-side and ATVs.

The OPP said that on Nov. 22, the Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), West Region Regional Support Team (WRRST) along with General Law Enforcement (GLE) officers attended a property on Highway 6.

During the search police said they seized stolen property including an Acura TLX, a Can-Am 100R side-by-side, a Can-Am Renegade ATV, a Honda ATV, and an ATV trailer. 

The total value of recovered stolen property is $80,000, according to an OPP news release.

A 24-year-old from West Perth and a 47-year from Chatsworth Township were each charged with following offences under the Criminal Code:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 X2
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 X2
  • Alter/Destroy/Remove VIN

Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on Dec. 21.
