A traffic stop in North Perth resulted in a 39-year-old driver from Perth East Township facing an impaired driving charge.
On Monday, Aug. 14 just before 11:30 p.m., an Ontario Provincial Police officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Perth Road 140. As a result, driver has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor
- Speeding 1-49 km/h over posted limit
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on Sept. 18. A 90-day administrative driver's license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
