Perth OPP charged three drivers with speed racing over the weekend.
On Aug. 4, an Otterville resident, age 54, was caught driving 136 km/h in a 80km/h zone on Perth Line 55 in Perth East. Just 13 minutes later, a Beaverton resident, 47, was caught driving 135 km/h on Perth Line 44 in Perth East. The following day, Perth OPP stopped a vehicle after the driver, a 40-year-old from Stoney Creek, was clocked driving 136 km/h on Perth Line 20 in West Perth.
In each incident, a 30-day driving suspension and 14-day vehicle impoundment was initiated, per statute. Accused drivers are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
