Single-vehicle crash leads to impaired charges in Perth East

PERTH EAST – A single-vehicle crash has led to impaired charged for a St. Marys resident.

On Wednesday, Nov. 27, just after 11 a.m., Perth County OPP, with Perth County Emergency Medical Services responded to a collision in Perth East.

A motor vehicle had entered the ditch in the area of Perth Line 34, police said in a news release. 

One person was transferred to hospital by Perth EMS. No serious injuries were reported, police said.

A 52-year-old male, of St. Marys, was charged with:

  • operation while Impaired- alcohol and drugs
  • operation while Impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • drive motor vehicle- not equipped with ignition interlock device
  • driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The driver's license of the accused was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for seven days.
