Four drivers were charged with impaired driving over the Canada Day weekend, Perth County OPP said in a Monday media release.
Shortly before 4 a.m. on July 2, a single vehicle crash in the area of Road 131 in Perth East led to a pair of charges for a Milverton teen.
A 17-year-old was charged with:
- operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Shortly after 10 p.m., also on July 2, police responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch in the area of Line 34 in Perth East.
After speaking with the driver, police charged a 24-year-old from Kitchener with:
- operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
On July 3, just after 9 a.m., Perth OPP were conducting speed enforcement in the area of Road 164 in the Municipality of West Perth and stopped the driver of a vehicle.
As a result of the stop, a 48-year-old from London was charged with:
- operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- speeding 1-49km/h over the posted speed limit
A Zorra Township driver was also charged after police responded to a single-vehicle crash in Perth East just after 9 p.m., also on July 3.
A 55-year-old was charged with:
- operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
All of the drivers were issued a 90-day administrative driver's license suspension and their vehicles are impounded for seven days.
