Stratford police charged a Toronto driver in Perth South with careless driving after the suspect failed to stop after causing a collision.

A white sports car later identified as a white Subaru BRZ was driving west on Line 20 on June 4. It entered the eastbound lane to pass another vehicle when two motorcycles were driving east. The first motorcyclist avoided the Subaru. However, the second motorcyclist skidded on the gravel side of the road when the motorcycle drove off the road into a ditch.

The driver of the white Subaru did not stop and continued driving westbound on line 20.

When police arrived on the scene after 3:30 p.m., paramedics were treating the injured motorcyclist, who was later transported to Stratford General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police identified the owner of the car after obtaining a photo of the white Subaru BRZ from a camera on the motorcycle.

On June 5, police contacted the driver, a 51-year-old resident of Toronto. The suspect went to Stratford police headquarters and was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
