Arrest made in West Perth theft investigation

Police say the accused had a business account, purchased some items, and then tried to return them for cash

A 50-year-old Hanover resident was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 after a police investigation. 

On Aug. 9, at 4:10 p.m., Perth OPP responded to a reported theft from a local business on Line 34 in West Perth.  

The accused had access to a business account, purchased items and tried to return them for cash.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on Sept. 18.
