With Education Week on the horizon, the Avon District School Board along with the District 8 OSSTF has announced this years' recipients of the Excellence in Public Education Awards.
The awards celebrate student achievement and teaching excellence.
Among the recipients are secondary students, secondary teachers, support staff members, community members, and two especially-excellent elementary students.
“It is important to recognize the examples of excellence in all areas of public education in Avon Maitland," said Maureen Matchett, President, District 8 OSSTF. "Whether it is the student who has enriched the atmosphere of the school, the staff person who has encouraged excellence through their contributions to their
school, or the community member who has improved the school environment, they all help make everyone’s educational experience a positive one.”
