Vehicle reported stolen in North Perth

Police are investigating after a grey 2009 Honda Accord was reported stolen from a school parking lot on Perth Road 147 in North Perth yesterday afternoon around 1:30 p.m.

A news release issued by Perth OPP stated that two Ford SUVs – one white, one grey – entered the parking lot in question. The grey SUV followed the stolen vehicle out of the parking while the white SUV was left behind.

This incident remains under investigation.

A 47-year-old West Perth resident has been charged with spousal assault after officers responded to a domestic disturbance in West Perth at 10 p.m. Saturday evening.

Following an investigation, it is alleged that "one person involved in the disturbance had assaulted the other and had damaged a wall."

The accused, who was released from custody, is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

A pedestrian was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries last Friday after being struck by a vehicle on Mill Street East in Perth East.

As a result of this investigation, a 66-year-old Delaware resident was charged with careless driving.

Around noon last Friday, officers responded to Line 26 in West Perth where a tractor had rolled into a ditch.

The driver, a 17-year-old Fullarton resident, suffered minor injuries and has been charged with careless driving.

A 43-year-old resident of North Perth has been charged with theft in a shoplifting investigation which began on May 31.

OPP responded to a Listowel business shortly after 10 a.m., after it is alleged that the accused stole $100 worth of items.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
