A Friday-night RIDE check in West Perth has let to multiple charges for a driver from Paris.
On Aug. 19 around 7:38 p.m., the driver stopped at the checkpoint, led by Perth County Ontario Provincial Police, on Road 150 in West Perth.
Police determined that the driver had consumed alcohol and a roadside screening device was administered. The driver was ultimately arrested and taken to a local operations centre for further testing.
A 52-year-old Paris male is charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs and drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.
A 90-day driver's license suspension and seven day vehicle impoundment were administered, per statute.
The driver is scheduled to appear in court in September to answer to the charges.
