Michael A. J. Weadick, age 68, of Stratford and formerly of St. Marys passed away at the Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Born in St. Catharines, Ontario, he was the son of the late Nora (Ewert) and John Clifford Weadick. Beloved husband of Christine (Chippendale) Weadick. Loving father of Phillip, Sara, and Raymond. Proud Poopah of Easton. Dear brother to Wayne (Tracy), Loretta (Ralph) and Noreen (Gary), and predeceased by his sister, Donna. He will be greatly missed by many family members and friends.
Michael retired from Maple Leaf Foods in Rannoch after 35 years. He worked a variety of roles within the company and was always willing to take on a new challenge. Michael deeply loved his family, had a contagious sense of humour, and a wide range of passions including photography, chess, reading, and history.
Throughout his twelve-year battle with Amyloidosis AL, he saw many ups and downs. He persevered and faced each one with courage, strength, determination, and was always able to handle each obstacle with a joke.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the St Marys Memorial Hospital, London Regional Cancer Program, Victoria and University Hospitals, and Stratford General Hospital. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the staff at the Rotary Hospice Stratford for the excellent care he received in his final days. All your care and compassion will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, August 25, 2023. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11 am. Pastor William Ney will be officiating. Following the interment in Avondale Cemetery, then a reception will be held at W. G. Young Funeral Home Reception Centre.
