Where there is family there is love. Family gives you the roots to stand tall and strong. Family is the heart of the home.

Nick Tsaltas passed away peacefully on April 25, 2023 at the age of 87 years. Predeceased by his wife Lois Tsaltas (Griffith) and best friend for almost 57 years. Father to Vicki Gatschene and Carrie Lane. Grandpa to Jennifer Horenberg (David), Nikki Smidts (Josh), Erica Anderson (Shawn), Dean Lane (Kim). Great Grandfather to Olivia and Levi Horenberg, Caleb and Luca Smidts, Carter and Nolan Lane, and Sullivan Anderson. Also survived by brother John (Diana) Tsaltas and sister-in-law Jean Tsaltas as well as several nieces and nephews. Nick was also predeceased by his parents Gus (Pops) and Kate Tsaltas, brother Harry Tsaltas and son-in-law Steve Lane.

During all of their married life Nick and Lois loved to travel. They visited many beautiful and exciting places, leaving them with wonderful memories. Nick was a long-time employee of Fram Canada where he worked managing the sales department. Due to a strict budget and excellent money management skills by his wife, Nick was able to retire in his late 50’s a dream come true. Early retirement allowed Nick to enjoy Golf at the Municipal Golf course with a men’s group. Nick and Lois together belonged to the Mitchell Golf Course, and also enjoyed trying out many other courses near and far.

Lois and Nick were snow birds and winters were spent in Florida. Shuffle board matches and hanging out by the pool were a must. In Nick’s younger years Grand Bend was a Sunday regular with lunch at the Pizza Patio or Cheryl Ann’s. Nick was also a huge baseball fan and had a love for the New York Yankees.

A special thanks goes to the Arden Park Hotel. After Lois passed away, Nick had most of his meals at the Arden. The staff became more like family. A special thanks to the Medicine Ward both nurses and doctors at the Stratford General Hospital.
