Wyman James George Smellie, age 73, of Harrington, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on August 26, 2023. Born in Cambridge, son of the late George and Gladys Smellie.
Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years Brenda (Blommaert). Father of Jason (Jolene), Jarod, Jeffery (Diana). Grandfather of Jenna, Jaiden, Jessyca, Easton, Jesse, Rhianna, Aurora, Faeryn, Josephine and Victoria Delesie. Brother of Lynne Bondy, Sheila Habermehl (Ted), Leanne Daniels (Rob). Brother-in-law of Judy Guilherme (Joe), Linda Sutton, Kim Gates (Brad), Sandra Metelski (Peter), Jeff Blommaert (Rhonda). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brothers-in-law Bruce Sutton, Daniel Blommaert, mother-in-law Jean Scott and father-in-law Joe Blommaert.
Jim worked at Dominion Controls/Dura for 42 retiring as Forman.
Cremation will take place. Visitation will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Tuesday, August 29, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Stratford General Hospital. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
