June 11, 1934  -  June 2, 2023

Allen Neville Ollivier, age 88, born in Toronto, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023. After marrying Noreen in 1967, and living for five years in Freeport Bahamas, Allen and Noreen decided to make Stratford their home. Allen thoroughly enjoyed familiarizing himself with the highways and byways of southwestern Ontario as he covered the territory as a pressure vessels inspector. For many years he was a member of the Stratford Rotary Club, receiving a Paul Harris Award. He served on the Board and as President of the Stratford YMCA and after retirement, volunteered with the VON Day Program and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Beloved husband for 55 years of Noreen. Loving father of Gary (Genevieve) Ollivier and Aline McDonald. Proud grandfather of Xavier and Maddox Ollivier and Nicole McDonald. Dear brother-in-law of Fran Errington, Luke Blackstone and Vivian Macdonald. Also survived by many nieces and nephews across Canada and abroad.

Allen, with the most unique whistle on the planet, was always a supportive and active father who created many fond memories for his children. Whether it was helping with homework and sports or sharing his advice, he always offered a helping hand. He was fascinated with technology, astronomy, classical music, motorcycles and undersea life and enjoyed watching and discussing movies and sharing his perspective about the complex world around us.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Memorial donations in Allen’s memory may be made to West Perth Village, Mitchell. Arrangements entrusted to the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford 519.271.7411. www wgyoungfuneralhome.com
