Sharon Lynn Melville (nee Hughes) passed away peacefully surrounded by beautiful music and her family on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the age of 80. She is survived by her children, son Paul, Todd (Kim), Jason (Andrea); grandchildren Jelene (Gabe), Corbin, Brodie, Logan, Carter and Kaci. Loving sister of Roxy (Doug) Fitzgeorge and Bob (Sue) Hughes. Sharon was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 60 years Larry Melville in January (2023). She was also predeceased by her parents Rosina and Wellington Hughes.
Sharon with her kind caring nature was always making friends wherever she went. She was the first Big Sister in Stratford. She also enjoyed travelling and watching her boys as they prepared the car to go down the drag strip. There was always a feast to be had whenever you were at Sharon's, you never left hungry. Sharon also loved the skies and could tell you all about the clouds and was a pilot who flew many successful flights in her Cessna 172 (Charlie). She loved each and every one of her grandchildren immensely and always listened intently as they shared stories with her. She was also a dog lover and had many dogs over the years. Her favorite fur baby of late was sweet little Teddi.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 5 – 8 p.m. A graveside service will take place at Avondale Cemetery (Section 25D) on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Following the interment, a reception will be held at the home of Todd and Kim Melville, 317 Huron Road in Sebringville (additional parking is available across the road at the Community Centre).
