Deborah Anne McEvenue (nee Robertson), Jan 9, 1953--Jan,12, 2024, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer in Stratford Ontario. Daughter of the late Jean and Graham Robertson, Deb is the beloved wife of George McEvenue, dear sister of Jennifer Higgins (Ted Higgins), adored aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law Kelly McEvenue, Sheilagh McEvenue and the late Mimi McEvenue Love and Meg McEvenue Young.
Born in Hamilton, Deb grew up in Toronto, attended Havergal College (Toronto), Crofton House (Vancouver) and the University of Toronto. She was a Medical Life Underwriter and a VP for Mercantile & General Reinsurance, Swiss Re Life & Health, and Gerling Global. A gentle woman with a sense of humour, Deb was a superb gardener in the grand English tradition . She was also an avid reader, and lover of dogs (currently PBGVs Daisy and Augie are missing her).
Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth, Stratford General Hospital and LHSC hospitals in London, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations, if wished, can be made to Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth or to a hospice / charity of your choice. As per her wishes cremation has taken place.
