Roger Joseph Alfred Judd of Stratford, Ontario passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on January 31, at the age of 86.
Roger came to Stratford with Dominion Chain in 1965. After leaving Dominion Chain, he worked at Hiller Realty for many years.
Roger’s passions included serenading the neighbourhood with his oldies music while sitting on the front porch, golfing at the ‘Muni’ where he was a member, mowing his perfect lawn, cheering on his favourite sports teams, and doting on his three grandchildren. He could always be found cheering loudly in the stands at their basketball games.
He is survived by his wife Barb (Pigeon) of 56 years, daughter, Jennifer Mascarenhas (Michael) and son Rob Judd. He is a proud Grandpa to Julia, Ben and Sam. He is the brother of Ruth Waters (John), Guy Judd (Stella) and Bert Judd and their families. He is brother-in-law of Cathy and Jim Shurrie and Tom and Sylvia Pigeon and their families, sisters-in-law Wendy and Carol.
Roger is predeceased by his parents Albert and Anne Judd, brothers Ray (Margaret), Nick and Norm Judd and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dave and Mary Farr.
The family would like to especially thank Shirin, Shanil, Pat, Danielle and Lilly for their wonderful support during Roger’s short illness.
Family and friends are invited to St. Joseph’s Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, February 8, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Avondale Cemetery followed by a reception at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. Donations in Roger’s memory can be made to St. Joseph’s Church Restoration Fund or Wellspring Stratford.
