Linda passed away in her sleep at home on August 24, 2023. It is with a heavy heart and 65 years of awesome memories that we share the passing of my beautiful beloved wife and best friend, Linda Louise (Jones) Gourlay. She was a devoted mother to Susan Ellen (Gourlay) Ahti, (Robert) and Glen William Sidney Gourlay, (Cheri). Linda had seven precious grandchildren, Jessica, Steven (Kirsten), Christine, Katie (David), Melissa, Danielle, Brian and her great grandchildren, Vanessa, Audrey, Emma, David, and Miles. Remembered lovingly by her sister-in-law Barbara (Gourlay) Davey, (Bryan) and nieces Tracy and Kimberley and Linda’s brother Frank.

Linda’s unwavering love of family was without question. She was an avid lover of nature and could not see any living creature hurt or in pain. Among many of her incredible abilities, she was a famous and fabulous cook appreciated by family and friends everywhere. She had a passion for cooking and cherished seeing people enjoy themselves at countless family milestones and celebrations including several friends who considered Linda family. She had a knack for baking and what she made was legendary. She was a skilled artist, a world traveler, and overall had many numerous gifts and talents all wrapped up with a wonderful sense of humor. She always put her family first and she dedicated herself to making sure a lifetime of memories were made. Linda was always recognized for her love and outgoing caring manner.

Linda was given 12 years of fantastic GI care by her favorite doctor, Dr Saloojee at the Ottawa General Hospital. Thank you to the nurses at the Brockville General Hospital who were by her side, giving her the best of care possible, every time she was admitted.

Family and friends are invited to Linda’s funeral service on Thursday, August 31, at 11 a.m. at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. Interment at Avondale Cemetery. Memorial donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
