Helen Mary Devitt, age 88, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at St. Marys Memorial Hospital (St. Marys). Born in Kitchener, ON, daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Komar) Jankura. Predeceased by her loving husband Ronald Devitt (June 7,2012).
Proud and loving mother of Susan (Jim) Wilby, Diane Gingerich, Nancy Devitt (Jim Neil), Robert, John (Sherry), Mark (Heike) and Jennifer Devitt (Che). Grandmother of Sandy, Scott, John, Karen, Catlin, Dane, Lindsay, Jamie, Serena and great grandmother of Avery, Lauren and Austin.
Helen will be fondly remembered by her sister Sophie (Roy) Ropchan and daughter-in-law Virginia Joyes and sister-in-law Sheila Jankura along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to sincerely thank the Wildwood Nursing Home (St. Marys) for the wonderful care and compassion given to their mother. Besides her parents and her husband Ron, Helen was predeceased by her son Michael (2010) and brothers Frank Jankura, Tom Jankura and Harry (Jean) Jankura.
In keeping with Helen’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford.
