Donald Howard Bowman

December 27, 1931 to May 3, 2023

At 91 years “for a young fella”, our father and grandpa went peacefully to join the love of his life, Donna. “Bo Bo” was born in Waterloo Township. He and Donna were married in 1953 and lived most of their life in Cambridge. He was the self-proclaimed best truck, bus, and overall driver you’d ever meet. He loved travelling and a good game of euchre, especially with Donna, her sister Velma and brother-in-law Donny. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, and was a big joker, always having fun with his “little sweethearts”. He later moved to Woodland Towers in Stratford to be closer to his daughter Debbie and son in law Len and finished his final days with the wonderful care from the healthcare team at Stratford General Hospital.

Survived by his daughter Debbie (Len) and son Terry (Cheryl) and cherished grandchildren Michael (Jenn), Kim (Jeff), Michelle, Stacy (Brad), Crystal (Eric) and Kaylee (John) and great grandchildren Chloe, Aidan, Nolan, Claire, Cecilia, Emma and Fox. Also survived by his sister-in-law Velma, many nieces and nephews and long-time friend and mother of Len, Kay.

Predeceased by his wife Donna, parents Matilda and Albert Bowman, brothers Harold, Merv, Denny, Bill and Leonard, sisters Ruthie, Mildred and Leona.

Special thanks to Janine and Jeanette and all of the staff at Spruce Lodge and to Jannyne, Tiffany, Kelly, Carly, Bonnie, Dana, Jodi, Melissa, Tara and Dr. Tony Dilabio at Stratford General Hospital for the exceptional care you provided.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will occur at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Spruce Lodge, Stratford General Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford, ON.

We will miss you forever and always wish we could still follow your mantra – “If you don’t know, ask Bo”.
