Amber Alert lifted in Montreal after infant found 'safe and sound'

MONTREAL — Police in Montreal have cancelled an Amber Alert after locating a five-month-old child who they said had been abducted.

MONTREAL — Police in Montreal have cancelled an Amber Alert after locating a five-month-old child who they said had been abducted.

Police say the suspect and child were found about 25 minutes after the emergency alert was sent to mobile phone users and television viewers across the region.

According to authorities, the infant was reported missing at about 1:35 p.m.

Police spokeswoman Véronique Dubuc says she was en route to the scene, a few blocks east of Angrignon Park, when the alert was lifted.

Police wrote on their Twitter account that the child was "safe and sound."
