Warriors to meet Listowel in conference final

Stratford moved on with a 3-2 win over Elmira Friday night

The Stratford Warriors moved on to the conference final with a 3-2 win over the Elmira Sugar Kings last night at Allman Memorial Arena.

Brayden Stumpf and Cole Lewis scored power play goals in the second period to put the home side up 2-0. Michael Denney made it 3-0 early in the third period.

Joey Martin and Luke Della Croce brought Elmira within a goal, the latter coming with just over six minutes remaining in the third period, but Stratford held on.

Matt Perdue made 33 saves in the Warriors' net.

Dates for the next round have not yet been announced.

Listowel and Stratford split their regular season series 3-3.

Listowel went 8-0 in sweeping each of its first two playoff series against Caledon and Ayr, outscoring the opposition by a combined 40-13.
