Stratford Warriors jump out to 2-0 series lead over Elmira

ELMIRA – The Stratford Warriors are up 2-0 in their best-of-seven Midwestern Conference semifinal against the Elmira Sugar Kings after a pair of weekend wins.

Game 3 goes tonight in Stratford at 7:30. Game 4 is Wednesday in Elmira.

Sunday in Elmira the Warriors scored three times on the power play en route to a 5-2 victory. Michael Denny scored a pair of goals to pace the attack, with singles scored by Cole Lewis, Brayden Stumpf and Joey Brehmer.

On Friday in Stratford, Matt Perdue stopped all 19 Elmira shots as the Warriors won 7-0. Lewis had four goals and Camden Daigle had four assists to pace the attack. Stumpf, Carson Harmer and Tristian Huinink had the other goals.
