Elmira avoids elimination with OT win over Warriors

ELMIRA – The Elmira Sugar Kings forced a Game 5 by defeating the Stratford Warriors 4-3 Wednesday night in double overtime.

That Game 5 goes in Stratford Friday at 7:30 p.m. Game 6, if necessary, goes Saturday night in Elmira at 7 p.m.

Brendan Gerber scored the winner at 2:33 of the second overtime.

Stratford forced overtime when Cole Lewis scored his 10th of the playoffs with 1:19 left in the third period. Camden Daigle and Brayden Stumpf had the other Warriors goals.

Matt Perdue made 33 savesin the Stratford net while Liam Reid made 48 saves for Elmira.
