Stratford Symphony Orchestra’s principal conductor and music director William Rowson composed and conducted the score to a movie, Brotherhood, and it screens on May 10th at The Little Prince MicroCinema.

The screenings are a companion event to Rowson and the SSO’s upcoming performance on May 4th, a special evening of film music featuring the world premiere of The Brotherhood Suite - music from the film. The approximately ten minute suite previewed in Sudbury on April 24th to an appreciative crowd of 650 concert-goers.

Brotherhood follows a band of teenage boys who set out across Ontario’s Balsam Lake in 1926 in a 30-foot war canoe, with two camp leaders, and are capsized by a deadly summer storm. The survival / adventure drama was the 2020 winner of the Canadian Screen Award for Achievement in Visual Effects. Since its original release in December of 2019, Brotherhood has adventured across Canada in a staggered roadshow release, playing at 65 cinemas.
