Friday

Market Square Music, downtown Stratford

6:30-7:30 p.m. 

Starting Friday, the City of Stratford provides a community concert series from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday evenings. Each Friday will feature a new performer. The opening act is Dayna Manning, who also produces the series. Until June 23 at Market Square. 

Saturday

Stratford Farmer's Market

7 a.m. to Noon at 357 McCarthy Road 

Organized by the Stratford and District Agricultural Society. Indoor market expands to outdoors May to October. Vegees, cheese, meats, baking, flowers, crafts, handmade gifts. Backbacon on a bun and farmer's sausage available via fundraising BBQ. 

Seedling Sale at Greenhart Farms 

1-5 p.m. at 1659 Line 41, New Hamburg

Pick out some seedlings for your garden! All kinds of vegetable plants, herbs, and some annual flowers (check out the online store here: https://greenhartfarms.ca/plants-shop/ )

The Fossil Guy

10-11 a.m. at Wildwood Conservation Area (visitor centre), 3995 Line 9 St. Marys

Join the “Fossil Guy,” Bob O’Donnell, for a presentation and display of amazing local fossils. Great event for families, but appropriate for all ages. Participants will have an opportunity to get up close and touch fossils. All children attending will receive a free shark’s tooth!

There are no additional fees for this event. Regular day use entry of $15 per vehicle applies for those who are not registered campers

Busy Hands Workshop

1-3 p.m. at Stratford Perth Museum, 4275 Line 34 Stratford 

Macrame Plant Hangers
The art of Macrame has been around since the 13th century when it finds its origins in Assyrian and Babylonian civilizations. Since that time, the art form has been adopted and modified all over the world. In North America, the craft has been practiced since the 19th century and regains popularity about every 20 years with new trends to fit the times. In this era plant hangers are all the rage! Come hang out and learn the ancient skill of macrame with a modern twist to invite spring into your home.

Supplies: All Included

Project: Learn about Macrame and make your own plant hanger.

Price: $50 plus tax

Workshop Leader: Elise MacDonald. Elise is a self-taught Macrame artist from Kitchener, running her own Macrame business for the past 5 years. She enjoys exploring everything macrame including new projects, and different patterns, and connecting with new people through the craft.

Saturday and Sunday

Art in the Park 

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Tom Patterson Theatre and Festival Theatre. 

Artists are on hand to sell their artworks and discuss their works.
