Tiffany Keller's rink representing Special Olympics Ontario Stratford and Area won the provincial 'A' curling championship over the weekend.

Team Keller, which also includes Curtis Bender, Dylan Haynes Meghan O’Donovan and Jacob Ponsford, defeated Milton's Team Hall 8-2 at the Ontario championships, hosted by Ingersoll Curling Club at the FlightExec Centre in Dorchester.

Team Keller ran the table in the two qualifying competitions which preceded the provincial final, winning both of their games in the ‘B’ division at a regional event and all three of their round-robin ‘A’ division games at the SouthWest Tankard Qualifier to advance to the ‘A’ final. The Stratford-based team defeated Brantford (5-4), Barrie (5-1) and Kincardine (4-2).

Jane Larkworthy, community coordinator for Special Olympics Ontario - Stratford and Area, said athletes have practiced hard to prepare for the 2024 Special Olympics Canada National Winter Games in Calgary, at the end of February.

"We’re so very proud of them, not just for their performance on the curling ice at this event - which brought home a third SOO - CurlON banner to our club - but for how they carried themselves throughout this entire competition process. They truly are great ambassadors for our community, the City of Stratford and Special Olympics Ontario.

"Next up, Calgary."
