Stratford Warriors jumped out to a three-goal lead on the road Monday against the Listowel Cyclones and then held on for a 3-2 win.

The Warriors are in third place in the GOJHL Midwestern Conference at 28-14-4-0 following the Family Day Monday win. Listowel remains first in the division with a mark of 34-9-1-2, nine points ahead of Elmira.

Brayden Stumpf notched his ninth goal, also with the man advantage, 6:24 into the second period. Stumpf scored his second of the game with just under four minutes left in the middle frame.

The Cyclones left it late but made a game of it in the third period. With Teegan Middleton in the penalty box for a two minute holding penalty, Chet Hudson scored shorthanded at the 17:51 mark. Luke Eurig cut the deficit to a single goal with 30 seconds left but the Cyclones would not get any closer.
