Stratford Skating Club is offering some new programs and additional training opportunities for the upcoming season.

Alongside the staple Tuesday and Thursday sessions, the club is adding Saturday morning programming at the William Allman Memorial Arena. Included in the Learn to Skate program is a new pre-school session from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and a Canskate session from 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.

The club said via a media release that it wanted to add more skating opportunities for local youth thatare not able to attend on weekdays.

The new Saturday sessions will help families that have wanted to join skating lessons in the past, but have not been able to make regular evening time slots.

Saturday figure skating sessions have also been added to the calendar. Many club skaters compete in various events around the province throughout the season, and an extra day of training will help them stay competitive with skaters from other centres.

Additionally, the club is starting a Learn to Synchronized Skate program on Saturday mornings from 9 to 9:30am. This is a pilot project for this season.

The club's hope is to provide skaters (local and from other clubs in the area), with the  opportunity to try out synchronized skating.

Registration for all sessions during the 2023-2024 season is underway.

Figure skating  programs start Tuesday, Sept. 5th.

Learn to Skate programming starts late September and early October, depending upon the skating day that a participant chooses. For more information go to: http://www.stratfordskating.ca or call 519-275-2379.
