The Perth County Players will be holding auditions later this month for the production of Spiderella and the Pantomine Villain Academy in the fall.
Dubbed a modern twist on the traditional British pantomime, the performance is the first time the type of performance will be happening in Stratford.
“Panto is slapstick comedy with a side of music,” says Spiderella director Chris Leberg. “The stories are more or less based on well-known fairy tales and audience participation is a huge part of them -- with hilarious results. They’re fun for the whole family and we think Spiderella is going to be a real draw in the run-up to Christmas.”
There are 17 roles are available, while some are non-singing/non-dancing and others require one or both skills.
Auditions are open to anyone 13 years and older, and they will be held over the May 24 weekend at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 9 Douro Street, Stratford. Everyone auditioning will be provided with lines from the script to read.
