The annual gala of the Humane Society of Kitchener, Waterloo and Stratford Perth is returning in person on June 24.

Comedian Graham Chittenden will perform and host the gala, which will be held at NithRidge Estates in Ayr.

The Humane Society said this year's event, which supports animals in its care, will boast a night full of laughter paired with a three-course meal provided by Chef D’s culinary team.

“The funds go directly to animals like Hope, who need extra medical care and attention,” said the shelter's development director, Nick Burke.

Burke said Hope, a rescue dog, came to the shelter in November with significant hair loss, skin allergies and hypothyroidism. She has been receiving medical care from them for the past six months and is now up for adoption.

“It’s the perfect way to support the animals in our care," he said.

Aside from a comedic performance by Chittenden, the event will also feature a silent auction and raffle.

“This is our second in-person event this year, and we are thrilled to be back,” said its CEO, Kathrin Delutis.

“As a charity that receives no level of government funding for our programs and services, our fundraisers provide crucial funds to support people and pets in our communities.”

Tickets are on sale for $100 each. Shared and exclusive corporate tables are available starting at $500.
