Allman tender, transit electrification highlight council agenda

Stratford City Council has released its agenda for its regular council meeting scheduled for May 13, and here’s what you can expect:

  • A tender award for work on the roof of the William Allman Arena is set to be handed out to two different companies – one to Grand Valley Roofing & Coatings for $397,041.32 (including HST), and a second to John Kenyon Limited for $1,251,371.04 (including HST). A provisional fund of $91,228 the would be subject to approval by the Director of Community Services is also up for authorization, intended to cover any potential issues not within the initial scope of the work. All funds are set to be drawn from the Recreational Capital Reserve Fund R-R11-RECR.
  • A standing committee report from the Community Services Committee on the Transit Bus Electrification study results is set to be received for information with updates on the project provided by staff when available.
  • From the Finance and Labour Relations Committee, an Integrity Commissioner Services and Request for Proposal, asking for a proposal to be issued this year for integrity commissioner services. The term of said contract would run until December 31, 2026.
  • A report from the Committee of the Whole In-Camera session from the May 6 session concerning Respectful Workplace Policy Education and Training sessions. The agenda says that the purpose of the item was to provide members of Council with training on the policy and that no direction was given.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in council chambers and will be broadcast online with a video recording of the meeting to be posted on the City’s website afterwards.
