Two North Perth residents are facing charges after Ontario Provincial Police say they were in possession of stolen property.

OPP say they were investigating a different matter at around 2 a.m. on Boxing Day when they “observed roadway signage in the possession of two individuals.”

A 20-year-old and 21-year-old have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The pair are scheduled to appear in a Stratford court on Jan. 22 to answer to the charges.

"Perth County OPP want to remind the public that the removal of roadway, directional, and any signage leads to dangerous conditions for all roadway users,” said police in a news release.

“Signage identifying roadway speed, community safety zones, yield signs, stops signs, etc. ensure motorists travelling in the area have the information they need to safely navigate curvatures in the roadway, intersections, right of way, pedestrian crossings, etc. “

Any missing signs should be reported to police immediately.
