Stratford teen facing impaired charge after traffic stop

The driver is also charged with being under 19 and possessing cannabis

A Stratford teen is facing charges after a traffic stop earlier this week in Mitchell.

On Jan. 2 just before 11 p.m., officers with Perth County Ontario Provincial Police were on patrol in West Perth and stopped a vehicle.

As a result of the stop and subsequent investigation, an 18-year-old is charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), person under 19 years - possess cannabis, novice driver- B.A.C above zero.

The driver had their license suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court in early February to answer the charges.
