A search warrant issued at a Cawston Street residence on Tuesday has resulted in a big seizure of drugs, weapons and cash.
The culmination of an investigation into trafficking illegal substances started last year, Stratford police said in a media release.
All told, Stratford police seized 108 grams of fentanyl with a street value of more than $32,000, 181 grams of cocaine ($18,000) and 13 grams of methamphetamine ($1,300). Police also seized 66, eight milligram hydromorphone pills with a street value of more than $1000 and 100 milligram (five in total) hydromorphone pills, worth $450. Two oxycodone pills were also seized.
Police officers also found multiple BB and air soft guns, two crossbow arrows and various drug paraphernalia along with a large amount of Canadian and American Currency. Total street value of the controlled substances seized is $53,906.
Police executed the warrant shortly after 6 p.m.
A 56-year-old Stratford resident, Daniel Davies, was arrested and charged with numerous drugs and weapons-related offences, and breach of probation charges. The accused is in custody for a bail hearing. Police noted at the time of the arrest, the accused was in possession of a handheld explosive device, and banking and identity documents not issued in his name, as well as a small amount of crack cocaine.
