Pair arrested in Niagara Falls linked to Stratford jewellery store heist

Valuables worth $135,000 returned to Paris Jewellers at Stratford Mall

Two suspects wanted in connection with a jewellery store robbery in Stratford have been arrested in Niagara Falls.

Police say that last Thursday, Niagara Regional Police arrested two males on an unrelated matter, and they were later identified as being involved in a Jan. 3 robbery at Paris Jewellers. Thieves made off with a valuable amount of jewellery. 

Four unknown males entered the Ontario Street store, smashed several jewellery cases, and stole a large amount of jewellery, police said in a news release.

After their arrest in Niagara Falls, the suspects were found in possession of items stolen in the robbery at Paris Jewellers, police allege.

Recovered jewellery valued at $135,000 has been returned to Paris Jewellers, police said.

One of the suspects was also found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun at the time of his arrest, police say.

Both suspects, age 21 of no fixed address, are facing numerous charges laid by the Niagara Regional Police Service and remain in custody.

They also face robbery related charges by the Stratford Police Service.

An unknown amount of jewellery has yet to be recovered. 

Two remaining suspects are at large and have yet to be identified, Stratford Police said.
