North Perth man charged in intimate partner violence incidents

During their investigation, two historical assaults and mischief were disclosed, police said

The Perth County OPP have charged a North Perth man in relation to current and past incidents after police received reports of an intimate partner violence incident this week. 

Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in North Perth on Aug. 21 at around 9:40 p.m., police said in a news release.

Police say it was determined that one person assaulted the other in the disturbance.

During the investigation, two historical assaults and mischief were disclosed, police said.

As a result, a 35-year-old male resident of North Perth was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault - Spousal (two counts)
  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle
  • Mischief - Domestic

Police said the accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date.
