UPDATED: 'Smash and grab' robbery at Stratford jewellery store

Four males dressed in black allegedly smashed counters and stole an unknown quantity of jewellery

Stratford police are reporting a "smash and grab" robbery occurred Wednesday night at Paris Jewellers at Stratford Mall. 

Four males dressed in black smashed counters and stole an unknown quantity of jewellery, but worth in excess of $100,000, according to a Stratford police media release. The robbery occurred at 6:20 p.m. 

The suspects were in and out of the store in less than one minute before leaving  the mall.

All four suspects were completely covered in black, including gloves, masks, and hoods. They all appeared to be males of average height with slim builds but no other descriptors can be provided, police said. 

Two staff members working in the store were not physically injured. The robbers were last seen east bound on Ontario Street, leaving Stratford in a black Chrysler 300. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available. Anyone with information is asked to call Stratford Police Service at 519-271-4147.
