Huron-Perth street crime unit part of major drug bust

Several police services working together arrested a 67-year-old Cambridge man, arrested after police found $41,000 worth of heavy drugs. 

OPP street crime units from Huron-Perth and Brant-Oxford joined other emergency teams to execute a search warrant on Tuesday after a drug trafficking investigation in  Kitchener. Major Takhar of Cambridge is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking opioid, methamphetamine and cocaine. 

Total value of the seized drugs, which also included psilocybin is $41,000. 

Estimated value of seized property is $1,800. 

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at Ontario Court of Justice in Kitchener on April 19.
