Four charged in Stratford drug busts

Fentanyl, pills, crystal meth and crack cocaine all seized by police during arrests

On Friday, March 1 the Stratford Police Service Street Crime Unit concluded an investigation regarding the trafficking of fentanyl from a residence, located on Queen Street, in the City of Stratford. As a result of the investigation police charged the accused, who was identified as 36-year-old Stratford resident, Kerri-Lynn Lockrey-Barber with numerous charges including three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, and breach of recognizance.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on March 1, two males were arrested by the Stratford Police after attending the residence on Queen Street. A search of their vehicle resulted in the recovery of 78.4 grams of fentanyl and over $3,400 in cash.

The males were identified as Sahil Kumar, age 20, and Lukac Aleksandar, age 18, both of Stoney Creek, Ontario. The two males were charged jointly with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. They were both released on an Undertaking and are required to attend court on April 15.

At 7:15 p.m. Kerri-Lynn Lockrey-Barber was located walking on Queen Street and placed under arrest. A male, who was identified as Robert Benjamin, age 41, of
Stratford was also arrested at that time and location. At the time of her arrest, Lockrey-Barber was in possession of 1.95 grams of fentanyl, as well as 2.5 LSD tablets and 15 Diazepam pills.

A search warrant was later conducted at the residence on Queen Street, which resulted in the recovery of over 129 grams of fentanyl, a small amount of methamphetamine, 0.4 grams of crack cocaine, 503 Alprazolam pills and 2 Diazepam pills. The total value of all controlled substances seized is $26,174. Benjamin has also been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Both Lockrey-Barber and Benjamin were released from custody on an undertaking and are also scheduled to attend court on April 15.
