Two-car crash took place Tuesday around 7:30 a.m. at Road 122 and Line 29

An injured motorist was airlifted to hospital after a serious crash this morning, police said.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m. the Stratford Police Service was notified of a collision at the intersection of Road 122 and Line 29 in Perth South.

Officers arrived on scene to find a 2019 Ford Escape resting on its side against a tree.

The driver who had been trapped inside the vehicle had been assisted out with the help of a witness who was on scene.

Due to serious injuries suffered by the driver of the Ford Escape, the driver was air lifted to Victoria Hospital in London for treatment.

The area was closed down to allow for the Stratford Police Service Collision Reconstruction Team to conduct an investigation.

Police said investigation indicates the Ford Escape had been travelling southbound on Road 122 when it was struck by a 2020 Honda Civic that was westbound on Line 29.

This intersection is controlled by a stop sign for north/south traffic on Road 122, police said in a news release.
