Keith Richardson Hislop, age 89, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Rotary Hospice Stratford surrounded by his loving family on January 13, 2024. Born in Stratford, son of the late George and Edna Hislop.

Beloved husband for 65 years of Patricia (Kittmer). Loving father of Barb Fink (Randy), Tom Hislop (Heather). Grandfather of Chad Fink (Rachel), Lauren Willmore (Callan), Sarah Nahrgang (Josh), Alex Hislop (Jillian) and great grandfather of Lucy, Maggie, Sadie and Annie Nahrgang, Raelynn and Jayden Willmore. Brother of Sarah Proudlove, Vera Gibbons, Lloyd Hislop, Bessie Wilhelm, Ken Hislop (Berva), Ruth Lindner, June Zimmer, Joan Ford, Doug Hislop and Dorothy Calder. Brother-in-law of Helen, Hazel and Brenda Hislop, Allan Kittmer (Eleanor). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Predeceased by brothers George, Bob (Doreen), Brock, Joe, Ross; brothers-in-law Lorne Proudlove, Roy Gibbons, Leonard Wilhelm, Bill Lindner, Ron Zimmer, Ted Ford, Al Calder; sister-in-law Lenore Hislop.

As a young man Keith started working at the CNR shops as a machinist apprentice, and then dedicated 41 years working at Cleaver Brooks until his retirement in 1999. He also worked many years in the Sports Department at Canadian Tire. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Stratford.

Keith loved playing hockey and baseball in his younger years. He was a proud member of the “Harmony Hurricanes” hockey club, and played with several of his brothers. He took great pride in his grandchildren. He would always be proudly cheering them on at their sporting events, rarely missing a game.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at McCarthy Place Retirement Residence, Care Partners and Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth for their excellent care and compassion.

Visitation for friends and family will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Tuesday, January 30, from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 pm.
