We may be in for some wet and windy weather in the coming days, according to a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada.

Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and strong northwest winds, with gusts up to 80 km/h, are possible.

The wet weather is expected to start tonight and continue into Saturday.

   Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County
   Stratford - Mitchell - Southern Perth County
   Kitchener - Cambridge - Guelph
   Waterloo - Wellington County

Significant rainfall is expected.

Hazards:
Total rainfall amounts of 25 to 45 mm.
Locally higher amounts in thunderstorms.

Beginning overnight tonight and ending Saturday morning.

Rain will begin after midnight tonight and continue into Saturday morning. The heaviest rainfall is expected to fall Thursday into Thursday night. Locally higher amounts are likely in thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening. This rain will be accompanied by strong northwest winds Friday night, with gusts up to 80 km/h. Rain may become mixed with snow Friday night into Saturday morning.

There remains some uncertainty regarding the track of the low pressure area and resulting rainfall amounts.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
