With a Texas Low entering the region today, the system has the potential to bring with it between 25 and 50 mm of rain to the Upper Thames River basin.

That's in addition to the 5-10 mm received thus far and locally higher amounts are possible for areas that receive thunderstorms.

Rain is expected to continue through today before tapering into showers on Friday morning.

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) does not expect significant flooding at this time though water levels are expected to rise, and remain elevated over the weekend, with potential for flooding of low-lying areas that are typically prone to flooding.

Parents and guardians are reminded to keep children and pets away from all watercourses while banks near rivers and creeks are very slippery and, when combined with cold, fast-moving water, pose a serious hazard.
