A third-party investigator has found no evidence of a toxic work environment at Community Living Stratford and Area (CLSA), nor did it find any evidence of abuse by its leadership.

“A complaint was made in January by Kyle Clark, about our CEO, Trevor McGregor, regarding his interactions with (Amy) Clark,” Gerry Krug, president of the board of directors, wrote in a statement. “While we would not normally share information about an investigation or complaint, Mr. Clark’s social media campaign has left us with no choice but to speak more candidly about this situation.”

Kyle Clark, Amy’s husband, is one of the admins of the public Community Living Stratford Investigations Updates, a Facebook group with over 500 members.

There, members have been asking for the resignation of McGregor after Amy Clark reportedly died through “mental health challenges exacerbated by harassment she endured under McGregor’s management,” according to a change.org petition posted on the page.

On Jan. 26, the board voted to start a third-party investigation, after being made aware of the allegations, hiring Angela Bradley, a workplace investigator, lawyer, and mediator to look into them.

Bradley found that there was no credible evidence to support the allegations that McGregor engaged in harassment, bullying, abuse of power, and created a toxic work environment.

She found that McGregor’s interactions with Clark were few and far between and typical of many workplaces. She heard no “credible” testimony that he made insulting or degrading comments.

In the same statement, Krug wrote that Clark’s death has been difficult for many.

“We hope that our staff get the support they need while grieving this sudden loss,” he said. “We remain committed to working with staff to resolve their concerns. We will support all members of the CLSA community to participate in our organization respectfully and positively.”

Krug, McGregor, and Bradley have not yet responded to StratfordToday’s request for comment.

Kyle Clark also did not immediately respond to StratfordToday’s request for comment, but many expressed incredulity over the findings on the Facebook page.

“Just awful,” Tracy Dickenson wrote in one comment. “Let the fight continue.”
