Two drivers face charges following West Perth crash

Two drivers were charged following a collision on Perth Road 163 in West Perth shortly before 5 p.m. on June 16.

Perth OPP said a vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and t-boned another vehicle travelling on Line 20 in West Perth.

A 47-year-old Stratford resident was charged with careless driving, a 54-year-old driver from South Huron was charged with drive while under suspension.

No injuries were reported.

A traffic stop on Line 34 in West Perth lead to a racing charge for a 38-year-old Mitchell resident shortly after 6:30 a.m. on June 14.

The driver is accused of travelling in excess of 144 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

A 21-year-old resident of Kitchener has been charged with race motor vehicle - excessive speed following a traffic stop around midnight on June 11 on Perth Line 86 in North Perth.

Perth OPP say the accused was clocked driving more than 135 km/h in an 80 km/h limit zone.

On the evening of June 10, Perth County OPP officer responded to a report of break-in at a home on Perth Line 72 in North Perth where $33,000 in cash and jewelry were stolen.

It was determined that the break-in occurred some time between June 7 and June 10.

Police hope to identify the suspects responsible for a break and enter incident that occurred on Perth Line 88 in North Perth on June 9.

Perth OPP states that entry to the residence was gained through the front door and approximately $755 worth of tools was reported stolen.

A 34-year-old Perth East resident has been charged with theft under $5,000 after two incidents of theft were reported at the same Milverton business on June 8 and June 9.

OPP say that a wheelbarrow, topsoil and peat moss worth approximately $750 were stolen.
