Stratford driver caught speeding 65km/h over the limit

Police say the 26-year-old was seen driving 145 km/h in an 80km/h limit zone in Perth East; the accused is now facing stunt driving charges

A 26-year-old Stratford resident has been charged with stunt driving after they were caught driving 65km/h over the limit.

Police say they stopped a vehicle on Line 34 in Perth East on Jan. 29 around 10:34 p.m. after it was seen driving 145km/h in an 80km/h limit zone.

The driver was charged with: 

  • driving motor vehicle - performing stunt - excessive speed

The accused also faces a 30-day driving suspension and a 14-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date.
