OPP lay charges in break-and-enter, theft in Listowel

Police say items stolen from community organization, bicycle stolen from business

NORTH PERTH – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person in connection with two separate thefts in North Perth.

On May 27, Perth County OPP began investigating a break and enter at a community organization on Main Street West in Listowel, during which items were stolen.

In a separate incident, a bicycle was stolen from a business in Listowel on June 4, police said in a news release.

Xavier Raithby, 21, of North Perth, has been charged with:

  • Break, Enter a Place - Commit Indictable Offence
  • Theft Under $5,000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on July 22.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Raithby is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
