A local man has been charged with voyeurism and committing an indecent act after an incident in Stratford on Friday night.
Stratford Police Service said shortly before 8:30 p.m. they received a report of a male masturbating while peeping through the window of a residence on Forman Avenue.
The man was observed outside the window by two teenage females who were inside the residence with a toddler, police said.
The homeowner confronted the man after contacting Stratford Police, and the suspect fled the scene.
The male was followed by the homeowner to the area of Stratford General Hospital where police then tracked the suspect to a property on West Gore Street.
The suspect was identified as a 45-year-old resident of Stratford who was known to police.
He was arrested shortly after 9 p.m. and transported to Stratford Police Headquarters.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of approximately 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, police said in a news release.
The suspect was charged with committing an indecent act, voyeurism, possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of breach of probation.
He was held in custody to attend a bail hearing and was released on a judicial release order. He is required to re-attend court on April 3.
Police noted the accused is also currently charged with arson from an incident on Jan. 19, as well as another indecent act that occurred on Jan. 20 and is required to attend court on April 3 for these offences as well.
