Knife-wielding man arrested without incident

A male waving a knife around threatening passersby was arrested and faces charges. 

Stratford police received a report on Nov. 30 just before 10 a.m. that a male was waving a knife around and threatening people from the inside of his vehicle at the Cooper Lot, off St Patrick Street, in the downtown. 

Officers attended and located the parked vehicle. The male, alone in the vehicle, was identified as a 34-year-old Stratford resident, who is known to police. 

He was arrested without incident. 

The male is charged with uttering threats, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, and failure to comply with an undertaking. He was released from custody on an undertaking and is required to attend court on Jan. 15.
